2025 Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), an annual opportunity to honor survivors and celebrate advocates for their tireless work.
DVAM Awareness Materials
There are many ways to get involved and spread awareness within your communities. One of the strongest tools you have at your disposal is social media. Social media is a free and effective way to spread awareness, educate on the prevalence of domestic violence, and share with others that you are a voice against violence.
MOCADSV’s Victims Economic Safety and Security Act (VESSA toolkit): MOCADSV has released a toolkit with information on VESSA, forms for advocates and survivors, and social media graphics to spread awareness. You can view the resources and the social media campaign by clicking here.
General MOCADSV materials: MOCADSV has created multiple social media graphics available that you can share on your social media pages. Please tag us (@mocadsv) and use the hashtag #MODVAM to help us spread the message. Find our social media graphics by clicking here.
MOCADSV releases multiple research publications each year, including the annual statewide and regional Statistics Sheets. This resource provides an overview of services provided to domestic and sexual violence survivors throughout the year in an easy-to-understand format. Find the 2024 statewide and regional Statistics Sheets by clicking here, or visiting the research tab of our website.
The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV)
NNEDV released a toolkit annually for domestic violence organizations nationwide. The toolkit includes social media graphics with captions, press releases, and various templates to create an awareness campaign for DVAM. The toolkit also provides guides for fundraising and awareness month communications. Click here to access the toolkit.
