MOCADSV's 2026 Conference

MOCADSV’s 2026 Conference will be held in Columbia, MO. from November 4-6. We invite you to join us this fall for our conference.

This year’s conference theme is Living Your Legacy.

Legacy isn’t just yesterday’s history. Together, we are building tomorrow’s history every single day. Each day, through every interaction, and every thing you do in your agency, you are living your own, your agency’s, and this movement’s legacy. What do you want that to be?

MOCADSV’s Conference will feature workshop presentations from staff, Coalition members, and community partners, in addition to networking and team bonding opportunities, gift basket drawings, and a keynote speech from long-time advocate and author, Fran Danis, PhD.

Register today!

Keynote Speaker: Fran Danis

Fran S. Danis (Ph.D., Case Western Reserve University) is an associate professor emerita from the University of Texas at Arlington and recognized by the National Association of Social Workers as a Social Work Pioneer®. In 1980, she became the founding executive director of Denton County Friends of the Family, Texas, providing services to sexual assault and domestic violence survivors and their children. During her career, she served on the board of the Texas Council on Family Violence, conducted research and evaluation studies on gender-based violence, and taught university courses on domestic violence. She cofounded (with Lettie Lockhart) the Violence Against Women and Their Children track of the Council on Social Work Education’s Annual Program Meeting.

Contribute a Gift Basket

Drawings for gift baskets at MOCADSV’s conference are one of our most beloved traditions. At each conference, attendees contribute themed gift baskets for daily drawings. Attendees receive one ticket to enter into a drawing of their choice. They may also purchase additional tickets for additional entries.

Attendees are encouraged to contribute to the fun by donating a themed gift basket. Previous year themes have included community-specific themes like Kansas City BBQ or general themes like items for the perfect night in. MOCADSV annually donates a basket filled with staff’s favorite things. The Coalition asks that if you decide to participate by donating a gift basket, donations be culturally/religiously inclusive.

Prizes are awarded throughout the conference to those present during the drawing. Participation in the basket donation is completely voluntary. There is no need to notify MOCADSV ahead of time if you plan to participate. Gift baskets can be brought to the registration table when you arrive at the conference.
