Volunteer Coordinator

Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to join our team at ACCIS. The ideal candidate will be passionate about volunteer management, recruitment, public awareness and ACCIS’s Vision and Mission. They must also possess excellent leadership skills to oversee our volunteer program effectively.

Responsibilities
– Develop and implement strategies to recruit, train, and retain volunteers.
– Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments.
– Conduct community awareness events to attract new volunteers and spread awareness.
– Attend community meetings, build community collaborations, and provide informational speeches to groups and organizations.
– Collaborate with the Communications Specialist to ensure information and events are current.
– Supervise volunteer activities and provide ongoing support and guidance.
– Provide advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, transportation and assistance with orders of protection to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking and child abuse.
– Operate a 24-hour hotline on a rotational basis as scheduled by the Executive Director.

Requirements
– Prefer an Associate’s degree in a human service related field or at least two years of direct services experience with a domestic or sexual violence agency.
– Strong public speaking skills for engaging with volunteers and community members.
– Ability to use Windows based PC and Microsoft Office Programs.
– Ability to develop and deliver training programs effectively.
– Proficiency in current social media platforms.
– Ability to manage stress, utilize time effectively and work with a minimal amount of supervision.
– Good communication skills, both written and oral.
– Ability and willingness to work with a culturally diverse group of employees, volunteers, and clients.
– Excellent leadership and supervisory abilities.
– Possess a valid and current driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Application Question(s):
• Ability to work occasional weekend days or evenings for special community events or speeches.
• Able to operate a 24-hour hotline for 1 week (weekends included) on a rotational basis and must be able to respond to immediate requests for emergency orders, shelter placement, and or other needed services at any time, in person, during the hotline coverage shift.

Experience:
• Microsoft Office: 2 years (Required)
• Leadership: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
• Driver’s License (Required)

Ability to Commute:
• Mexico, MO 65265 (Required)
