Overnight Weekends

Job Description

We are currently looking for a person who is familiar with emergency shelter advocacy services who is available to work full-time during our overnight weekend shift. Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of proven experience effectively serving people who are fleeing domestically and/or sexually violent relationships and who are seeking refuge in our emergency shelter. The foremost responsibility of an emergency shelter advocate is to promote and facilitate physical and emotional safety for victims of domestic abuse and/or sexual assault. Promoting and facilitating physical and emotional safety provides positive support for a change and includes, but is not limited to, incorporating strategies that advocate for residents’ client-defined and non-residents’ client-defined immediate plans of action and safety with trauma-informed care applications. Shelter advocates are supervised and directed by the Shelter Manager. Additional advocates’ duties are outline in the attached job description.
