New laws take effect August 28
August 28 is the day laws passed by the Missouri General Assembly and signed by Gov. Nixon take effect. Veto session is on September 14, so there might be additional changes to laws after that point. We will keep you updated on our Facebook page and through email.
For a summary of the new laws, see our 2016 New Missouri Law document. We walk you through each of the changes in different areas of law related to domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, human trafficking and harassment.
