April is Sexual Assualt Awareness Month

The month of April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). It is a time designated to raising public awareness on the topic of sexual assault, and to educate communities on the importance of sexual violence prevention.

The 2013 National Sexual Assault Awareness Month campaign focuses on healthy sexuality, and its connection to the prevention of childhood sexual abuse.

Everyone can do their part to join the conversation. The National Sexual Violence Resource Center offers a wealth of information and resources. Take action this April, and learn more about how you can integrate the current SAAM campaign into your organization’s sexual assault services and education efforts.
